Dining Out in Perthshire

There are not many areas in the country that can boast so many award-winning and delicious restaurants in such a relatively small space.

Eating out in Perthshire

But Scotland can. Within an area of Perthshire, chefs heave healthy competition on their doorstep and customers looking for a fine dining experience have so many places to choose from...

... Barley Bree on Willoughby Street with its fine menu served in a 19th Century ornate building and a French-trained chef at the helm

... 63 Tay Street, situated on the banks of the River Tay, one of only 16 restaurants in Scotland to hold the coveted Eat Scotland Gold Award

... Andrew Fairlies, awarded 2 Michelin Stars in 2006

... Yanns, a popular restaurant with rooms

But here at Knock Castle, our menu and setting matches them all. The fine competition keeps us on our toes but we remain true to our principles:

  • Using the best local produce we can find
  • A menu that responds to the seasons and the produce available
  • Create new dishes
  • Create twists on the ‘classics’ and traditional dishes
  • A responsive menu, creating daily dishes from the foods we forage from the local land – the wild cep mushroom along with chanterelles, and the delicious heady flavour of wild garlic

With two restaurants to choose from, you are spoilt for choice when it comes to formal, fine dining:

The Roof Top Restaurant commands panoramic views of the surrounding Strathearn hills – our guests can partake in breakfast, lunch or dinner here.

The Oak Restaurant serves a varied menu from Thursday to Sunday, using only the best local produce. Classically styled, the restaurant is the perfect setting for an intimate dinner, with our award-winning food complemented by a comprehensive wine list. The Oak restaurant has a high standard of dress (collar and tie), for a truly exquisite dining experience.

Still want a dining experience, but without the formality? Then our bar is the perfect venue for you and your family.

The Knock Castle Bar offers a less informal dining out in Perthshire experience, without compromising on style, food or quality of the wine. A favourite with diners looking for a lighter meal, many people opt for the Bar area.

We welcome all diners to Knock Castle. If you are looking for a truly scrumptious dining experience when dining out in Perthshire, come to Knock Castle. You will not be disappointed.
